Frosty Road Trip

What to do in the winter when the temperature goes way below -10 °C? Some say that the only solution is to take a plane and head towards warmer areas of our planet. Others make sure the supplies of warm tee, glögg or wine will last until spring and wrap themselves in thick blankets at home. There is however another solution! A nice little road trip is always a good idea.

The thermometers were showing -16 °C outside. Cold? Not when the sun is shining on a cloudless sky. Those bright conditions were much welcomed after almost a month of darkness and gray sky. Sitting at home would be a sin.

We decided to go to Uppsala: it should look great in the winter edition, we thought. Obviously, taking the quickest way was not an option. A narrow, winding road led us to Frölunda Nature Reserve. It may not be the most beautiful place we’ve ever been to, but in these conditions made a huge impact. Look at this light, the patterns in ice and snow shining on the trees!
